UNNI
This is a project inspired by a photography class on examining relationships with family members. For this project, I chose to focus on Alison, who is my Unni, which means "older sister" in Korean. She's the complete opposite of me. While my sister is the more outgoing, scientific one, I am the artsy, introverted counterpart. Despite our different personalities and occasional head-butting, we get along quite well, with only four years between us. She's one of my greatest role models. Inspired by my sister's presence in my life, I wanted to show people my perspective of my sister as a strong, independent, and compassionate person– someone who has the hands of a healer, which is fitting given her career choice in medicine. The main focus of this piece are her hands, which have supported me and will continue to support many others in the future.
